All about Miami. The hot summer issue is what it’s all about in issue 2 of hi-gloss ‘the magazine’. These few months have been nothing but mezmerizing and hot. From being featured on Ocean Drive Espanol in the July/ August issue for ‘The Best of Miami’ to developing Redjive, entertainment and music marketing‘s new brand and logo. Let’s just say, Miami’s hot summer sun has casted a magical shine on hi-gloss. It’s hot out here, come out and play.

hi-gloss design has begun to design wallpapers for the desktop and phone graphics that will be included in the hi-gloss site the new toys are due to launch in spring 2007. Stay tuned for updates and previews of the designs, they’re sure to make you shine.

hi-gloss shines on the pages of Ocean Drive Español. hi-gloss is featured in the “Caliente” section of Ocean Drive Español due to come out in the summer issue featuring “The Best of Miami”, July/August.

redjive entertainment and music marketing loves monkeys, so much they’re all over their new brand and identity which hi-gloss designed. Specializing in marketing new upcoming music artist, redjive was looking for something that gave then an identifying mark. This fun and energetic group has not only all the hook ups to take new artist to stardom but they know how to have fun doing it.

hi-gloss has been working with inSTAFF solutions, a Human Resources Consulting company in developing their brand and identity. inSTAFF Solutions was looking for a fresh and professional image that made them pop out in today’s marketplace.

After graduating with an Architecture degree and working as a designer for world renowned Arquitectonica International and as creative director for Laurinda Spear products, Roberto began his ideas of hi-gloss design, an innovative branding and marketing design firm which he has been working on for only one year. “It has been a very interesting process in the development of my career and I remain creative in one format or another by applying what I have learned, it is all possible because in reality, for me, architecture and brand creation have very similar developing processes. I believe both fields have very similar aspects of development”, says Villazon, born in Miami of Cuban parents. With this concept and at only 29 years old, Villazon has formed hi-gloss design, a branding and marketing design firm that provides services for all ranges of clients, from naming, logo development, design, architecture, promotional items, packaging, marketing systems, corporate identities and down to all the details of an advertising campaign. “Our philosophy is that everything pertaining to a brand goes together. That is why, not only do I enjoy working on known brands, but I also enjoy working with smaller brands where I can work as a boutique agency, working with very elite clients where I can provide a detailed service down to the smallest task.” Among some of Roberto’s clients are: music labels, design studios, airports, aviation schools, hotels, such as the Sagamore, Townhouse and Sky Bar at the Shore Club. His works have won various awards, such as Tiles and Crystals of Designboom. “I don’t believe in trends, but more in timeless identity. I like the simple and minimal, the color white, simple forms and most of all freshness, all elements that work well for Miami and for advertising.” states Roberto, which with no doubt will use his tools to build his business, “it is very important to continue evolving your work and yourself”.

Roberto Villazon es un creativo por naturaleza. Despues de graduarse en Arquitectura y trabajar como disenador de la prestigiosa firma Arquitectonica International y como Creative Director de Laurinda Spear Products, en su cabeza comenzo a tomar forma la idea de Gloss Design, una novedosa compania de publicidad y marketing que Roberto vio constituida completamente hace apenas ano y medio. “Ha sido un proceso muy interesante en mi carrera, pero de una u otra manera, yo sigo creando y aplicando lo que he aprendido. Y es que en realidad, la arquitectura y la construccion de una marca tienen para mi practicamente el mismo proceso de desarrollo. Yo pienso que un campo y el otro son dos experiencias muy similares”, dice Villazon, hijo de padres cubanos y nacido en Miami. Con este concepto y a sus tan solo 20 anos, Villazon ha dado forma a Gloss Design, que ofrece un interminable repertorio de servicios para todos los requerimientos del cliente, desde la creacion del nombre y el logo, el diseno, la arquitectura, las promociones, los empaques, el marketing, los sistemas de identidad corporative y hasta los ultimos detalles de las campanas. “Nuestra filosofia es integrar cada elmento para que funcione todo el conjunto. Pore so, aunque me encanta trabajar grandes campanas de marcas fuertes, de versa disfruto mucho tambien cuando podemos enfocarnos como si la compania fuera una boutique, a la que llegan proyectos muy exclusivos y a menudo no tan grandes, pero a los que les podemos dar un servicio mucho mas complete y minucioso”. Entre los clientes de Roberto, hay todo tipo de sectores: importantes sellos musicales, estudios, aeropuertos y companies de aviacion, y hotels como el Sagamore, el Townhouse o el Sky Bar del Shore Club. Gracias a su trabajo, los disenos de Villazon han Ganado numerosos premios como la competencia Tiles and Crystals de Designboom. Su estilo es siempre bien acogido. “Yo no creo mucho en esto de las tendecias, sino mas bien en la identidad de cada uno. Desde que era arquitecto, siempre me gustaron las cosas sencillas y bien minimalistas, el color blanco, las formas simples y sobre todo, la frescura…Y ese es un estilo que funciona muy bien en Miami, tambien en cuanto a la publicidad”, asegura Roberto, quien no duda en poner en practical las herramientas para mejorar tambien su propio negocio: “es importante no dejar de crecer y hay que trabajar en uno mismo”.
